Nine Months

If I had decided to be silly and get pregnant directly after giving birth I would probably be holding a second baby now. Thankfully I can just focus on Eliana. She decided to celebrate nine months of life by waking up at 3, 4, and 5 am and not going back to sleep at 5. Actually, she went back to sleep shortly after I gave up at 6:15 and got out of bed to exercise. Stinker.

As for measurements, Eliana weighs 19.5 lbs (up a pound and 3 oz from last month) and measures 28.5 inches. Seeing as she measured 28.5 inches last month, I think I measured her wrong either this month or last. Weight is about the 63rd percentile and height is 75th.

As for milestones, Eliana has started standing and has taken her first few steps. She gets a little better every day. I would post those pictures now, but I already did last time. Her two top teeth came in, making the little bit of nursing I can do a bit...chafy. Is that a word? Probably not, but it fits the sensation better than other words.

Eliana's hair has started to take on a hint of curl and I hope it continues. You can see it in the picture from our last day at work. She'll get no more meals of alterations tags.
We all celebrated our first Easter together. Eliana didn't get any candy, but was a happy girl all the same.
Getting Eliana to sleep has been a bit more difficult because, combined with her lack of binky, she just hates not being awake and aware. She is a content and happy child, but she is not necessarily calm and subdued. Some days she refuses naps longer than ten minutes and just goes until she crashes.
Eliana has also decided that she wants in on our desire to get healthy and thinks the Wii Fit is her best option. It is certainly the most fun.
I also made a fun discovery on Sunday as I was ironing. Eliana watched closely as I misted the clothes I was preparing for her. I was reprimanded for what followed by everyone I told, but not for long.

Such a cute video! I love that she loves to be sprayed with the spray bottle. I'm sure she'll love it even more as it starts getting warmer. I think I would like that too. :)
