Sometimes You Just Get Lucky

Lately Eliana has been really enjoying cruising around and has even been improving her skills at standing up on her own. She's pretty shaky, but she can go for a couple of seconds without holding on to anything. I've been trying to get a picture or video of it for a few days now, but she has not been obliging. Today was much better, even if I didn't get one of her without holding onto or leaning on something. This was the best I could get.

It was really cute to watch Eliana reaching from the basket to the chair, so I turned on the video. I also thought a video might yield better results of standing by herself. I was right. You can hear my surprise right at the end.

She took steps! I certainly wouldn't call it walking, but I was so glad I happened to be filming at the time. Right now I am one proud mama. Not that I really had anything to do with it, but I can be well pleased with my daughter, right?
