One Night Down

My in-laws offered to take Eliana for us overnight for our fifth anniversary. We happily took them up on the offer. Now we just have a bit of a concern. She won't want to sleep for them. We've tried doing the cry it out thing, but without much success. She would just scream until it was obvious that she wasn't able to stop herself. At that point we would take her out of the crib to comfort her (which usually took about 15 minutes) and then cradle her until she fell asleep. Now we're paying for it. We've been putting her to bed with a bottle for the past while and it has worked well. But what happens when there's no bottle? She screams because she really hates going to sleep.

Also, we've noticed in the past few days that Eliana is throwing tantrums. She kicks her legs and flails her arms when she gets mad that we won't let her have or do something. The cry that once meant she couldn't stop herself is now her angry cry. This is unacceptable. Now we have to train it out of her and it sucks. Tonight was the first night of being really firm about letting her cry it out. Hopefully it will take and she'll be able to calm herself to sleep before our anniversary.
