This was the only picture I could get of both girls in costume. As you can see from both their faces, I was not popular in that moment. Still, Little Bo Peep and her sheep were nothing less than charming and beautiful. Ellie loved her costume (she wore it for three days straight) and Maya didn't seem to care about hers one way or the other. Thankfully, my mom was able to make the Bo Peep costume. I simply didn't have time. I got to make the sheep costume, though. And Ellie's sleeves. At least I was able to contribute a little.
Friday the 29th was spent trick-or-treating at the rehab facility where my grandmother is recovering from surgery to fix her broken leg. Everyone loved their costumes. The girls' cousin Daphne was there with her mommy, Charlotte. She made the world's cutest Tinkerbell.
Saturday the 30th we went to the ward party. Trunk or treat was moved indoors Ellie enjoyed choosing her candies, but not meeting the eyes of the people giving them out. Maya was good-natured about being dragged around. We also visited my parents while Daphne and her parents were over. It's a riot to watch Ellie and Daphne together. The picture to the right shows them just before Ellie decided she didn't care to hold Daphne anymore and dropped her. It's a good thing her daddy was there to catch her.
Sunday the 31st had us at G&G Cottam's place. Maya didn't put her costume on over there, but Ellie did. She was as darling as ever, even if she did decide that the couches needed accents of chocolate to make them perfect. Sorry about that.
It was fun to have Halloween spread over three days. The girls certainly got full use out of their costumes.
