Eric gave me the Wii Fit Plus for Christmas and it does a great job of weighing Ellie, so maybe I will go back to doing it every month
Weight: Almost 24 lb.
Speech: Eliana is great at copying sounds. She loves to mimic words we say and she probably understands more than she lets on. We discovered that she knows turtle, fork, and spoon when my mom held them up and asked what they were. I wonder what other things she knows, but chooses not to sat. Ellie is getting better with animals and says dog, cat, duck, cow, chicken (chick), lion, tiger, bear, and makes a respectable attempt at horse.
Motor: Pretty much the same as last month. Eliana prefers to hold hands when she goes downstairs. This is much more preferable to diving when no one is there to catch her. Thankfully she's never tried that. Her worst habit is sticking her fingers down her throat to make herself gag. That one's yucky.
Social: We've been working with more socially acceptable behaviors for Ellie. When a friend brought her new baby over we had to teach her "soft" a lot more aggressively than we had before. That's kind of necessary when she tried to squish the baby's face. Now when she starts being none too gentle with people or objects we tell her to be soft and she ends up petting whatever it is and chanting "sot, sot". Hopefully this will work well when we start taking her to Nursery in a few weeks.
Other tidbits: Eliana has started sleeping through the night again. After we moved she spent a while waking up once or twice a night. I think now she is comfortable and has pajamas that are warm enough. Christmas was a lot of fun (see post below) and Ellie was much more active this year than last.
