Christmas Fun

We took Eliana to see Santa for the first time. The line to see Santa two days before Christmas is a long one, so we used the time to take pictures and figure out what we could do to keep Ellie entertained while we waited. She did pretty well considering she had to wait in line.

One big fear before actually meeting Santa was how she would react to sitting on a stranger's lap. She didn't cry, but she certainly did wiggle. Santa was a little more nervous than Ellie was. We were glad we had chosen to take pictures ourselves, rather than pay the money for professional pictures.

After we finished with Santa we wandered the mall. Eliana was allowed to run the halls a little bit. She had two favorite stores. One had a ball with a fake ferret attached to it. She was fascinated with that little rat-on-a-ball but we didn't buy one for her. Her other favorite store was for clothing, but I don't remember the name. What I do remember is that she made a beeline for the sparkly shoes and stayed there until she spotted another item of clothing for sale. You would be amazed at how quickly a one year old can empty a rack of lacy panties...several times over.

Christmas Eve was spent at Eric's Mom's house. Eliana had fun playing with her new toys and basking in the attention due to a first grandchild.

Christmas Day started at my parents' house, where Ellie seemed pleased with the haul and showed much greater accomplishment ripping open gifts than she did last year.

In the afternoon we visited with Eric's dad and had a great time there. We were all lucky enough to receive a Flip video camera and we've been having a great time with that. I haven't played with it much beyond taking videos of Ellie, but it has lots of cool features that I'm excited to take advantage of. I plan on posting some of those tomorrow, as it is too late to play with it tonight. Ellie loves the camera, too, and can't stop asking to watch the recorded videos whenever she gets the chance.

It was a wonderful Christmas and we all had a wonderful time together with family.
