I was set to make this a private blog tomorrow, but with two family parties going on I doubt it will happen. So here is your last chance. If you want an invite to the blog either email me or leave a comment. I will hopefully set it to private on Sunday or Monday.
Eliana and I had a couple of great picture days this week. She is such a smiley and happy child. Still, she's not afraid to let you know when she wants something. Here are a few of the shots I love so well.
This is just a great smile shot. Her eyes are just so blue sometimes. It's still a little freaky to me, but I love that I have a blue-eyed baby. Eric teases me that her eyes will change to brown before the six months is up. I really hope not.
In this picture I have her sitting in her borrowed Bumbo chair. She will chew on anything that she can get into her mouth, so I choose to give her a teether to gnaw on.
Another smiley picture. I had her all decked out in red bows. If you could see her feet she was wearing a pair of red mary jane shoes with bows on the toes.
In the Bumbo again. Eliana seems to have been saving up her new tricks so she could break them all out in a short amount of time. She will now turn around to see who is holding her or what she is hearing. The same holds true in the Bumbo chair. She likes to see everything that's going on around her. Eliana's other new trick is rolling from her back to her tummy. I was working on the computer this morning and turned around to see Eliana on her tummy. I hadn't put her down that way, but she certainly was when I looked. So now she is getting to where she could be mobile(ish) any day now. We're pretty sure that as soon as she figures that rolling gets her closer to things and that rolling can happen in quick succession that she will decide where she wants to go and get herself there. Her other trick is the growl. We sometimes gently growl when we play with her and she mimics that.
Tired after several hours of playing and growling. I tried to get the picture so it could be seen from my perspective and this is pretty close.
I read an article on MSN a few months back that says the reaction of a mother's brain to seeing a picture of her smiling baby is the same as the reaction of an addict's brain when they get drugs. I think I'm addicted.
