First Ultrasound Picture

It's so nice to allow myself to let anyone and everyone know I'm pregnant now. I wanted to make sure things were okay with the baby before letting the world at large in on my secret.

This isn't the first ultrasound I've had with this baby, but this is the first that I was able to get pictures from. Our scanner has been on the fritz a little bit, so I didn't even try to scan anything at home. I scanned my favorite picture at work and emailed it to myself. The printer at the store I was at was stupid. Anyway, I had to call my manager to ask him what the fax number for the store was so I could fax the picture there and actually print it to put up on my wall. Turns out it doesn't go straight to the fax machine. It goes to email that he has access to and then he can choose what to print. So I faxed it and went there. He seemed busy, so I didn't bother him about getting it printed. That wasn't a problem until the customer service ladies found it. I had to hold back my laughter when they asked about it and he said he would take care of it. He then had to clarify that, no, his girlfriend isn't having a baby. I appreciate his discretion. And the laugh I got out of it.

I was supposed to be posting about the ultrasound, wasn't I? We got the call from the obscure relative that we could go in to the hospital at lunch time to get me scanned. Things looked great right from the beginning, which is what I really cared about. The baby is healthy and measuring well. Heartbeat was measured at 158 and 154 beats per minute. I love that sound. We spent a really long time trying to find the baby's gender, but with no luck. I've decided the baby is both modest and brilliant. Modest because s/he didn't want everybody to see what's off limits and brilliant for being able to keep it hidden after we tried everything we could to get him/her to move. We're hoping we'll have more luck at the 20 week ultrasound. Here is the picture of our little darling.

Baby is laying on its back/neck with the chin pointed to the top. The little blob in the middle of the black is Baby's hand. We got this picture as Baby was putting its hand in its mouth. You can see the open mouth and from there make out the top lip and nose. So cute. It was a great experience and I can't wait until we go in for our scheduled ultrasound in 3 more weeks.

BTW, I'm the one that clicked that I had allready recieved personal revelation about your uterus.
But my personal revelation came in the form of my sister telling me.
But don't be mad at her, she figured your secret was safe with me in VA. And it was, I only told like 20 or 30 people and they all promised me they didn't know you, (what's your maiden name again?).

Me again.
I read through your entire tadpole blog and wanted to comment on a couple of things, but I figured you are more likely to see it if I comment up here instead of on the older posts.
I loved the videos. Who's Line is one of my favorite shows, but I hadn't seen those ones.
On pregensia, I totally sympathize with you.
When I was expecting my first son someone asked me where I worked. I even started saying the word before I forgot it.
"I work at the hah...... hah.....,
you know that place where sick people go?"
"The hospital?"
"Yeah, that's it. I work at the hospital".
That definitely earned me a raised eyebrow.
