Twenty and Twenty-One Months

I really need to get better at keeping an actual monthly post for Ellie. I've been a bit distracted this month because of a hospital stay for my older (there would have been an actual twenty month post if not for that) and because of the new little girl on the way. She's due in September and we've decided to name her Maya. We're all very excited. It's fun to ask Ellie if she's going to have a baby sister and hear her repeat "sisser." Or I'll ask where baby Maya is and she'll thump her belly. It's cute.

Weight: fully clothed she was 29 lb, about 85th percentile.

Height: with shoes on, but ducking her head a little she was 35 inches tall. That's about 95th percentile. They say you can predict adult height by doubling the height at age 2. At the rate she's going she could easily be six feet tall.

Ellie's new favorite word is "gone." anything that is not directly in her field of vision is simply "Gone!" Use of sentences comes and goes depending on how she feels.

I've been using a bottle at her naps for the past 21 months and haven't really concerned myself about it because she wasn't really attached to it when we took it away at bed time. Well, her slow flow nipple bit the dust the other day and the fast flow goes to quickly for her to fall asleep with. Rather than buy a new slow flow nipple we decided to just take the bottle away. Turns out she was more attached than I thought. Naps were a difficulty with the fast flow. Thankfully she was asleep today when I told her the bottle was gone because it's broken. That helped her only scream for the bottle for a minute or two before crashing. That doesn't mean she hasn't been asking for it the rest of the day, but it's a start.

Other milestones of the past two months are Easter and, best of all, Daddy's graduation. The pictures of graduation that I got were pretty fuzzy, but I do have some Easter pictures.

In the Easter dress made by her Grandma Cottam.

Finishing her first Easter egg hunt with Daddy.  That was fun.

In the new play dress she got in her basket.
