I've had a few nights recently that have been difficult. Sleeping on my side leaves my hips sore. I'm not supposed to sleep flat on my back and it has gotten really uncomfortable, anyway. What's a pregnant woman to do? I just keep thinking, "I have 5 more months of this left AND it's only going to get worse? Fabulous."
I had heard about the Snoogle pillow a year ago, but just couldn't bring myself to spend $50 on a pillow. I can make a pillow myself for a lot less money. The problem with making a pillow is that between sewing all day at work and trying to help sew the skirts for my brother's wedding (when work is slow), I don't have a great abundance of time in which I could come up with the pattern and go buy all the supplies. Besides that I had never seen the pillow up close and wanted a better idea of dimensions. I prefer to work with a pattern. And there are only so many hours in a day you can spend sewing without growing to dislike it. Nine is about my limit.
Last night I mentioned the Snoogle to Eric as I looked online to see if there is anywhere that carries it for less than $50. He convinced me to buy it. When I don't sleep well I toss and turn, as well as snore. Gotta love that. We decided $50 was a bargain when it comes to a good sleep and picked one up on the way home from work. So far it's great and we'll see how well it works after I sleep with it tonight. And now I can use the cover on it as a pattern to make a sturdier, darker cover that is easier to keep clean. They cost $20 in the store, but I plan on cannibalizing our wonderfully soft sateen bedsheets that are no longer usable. It's also very flexible and comes with instructions on how to twist it for other purposes. You can also use it to support your back and a baby while you nurse. I'm pretty excited about it. We'll see tonight how it goes.
